Chaouki Chamoun born in Lebanon in 1942 attended art and design night courses before entering the Fine Arts Institute at the Lebanese University in 1968. Graduating at the top of his class in 1972, he was awarded a full six year scholarship to pursue graduate studies in the United States. Majoring in Painting as well as Sculpture and Ceramics Studies, he obtained his graduate degree from Syracuse University in Fine Arts in 1975.
