Arts education Is Vital:

Culture is the footprint of all civilization. As Lebanon’s youth gets more and more engaged in artistic expression, the lines of division which marred its existence blur.

Colours and forms, shapes and textures that can touch the human spirit and channel the discomfort that ails our societies can capture the imagination of present and future generations and ease their frustration more than violence. Dance and music, photography and film serve the same purpose. This has been proven as the best antidote to fight inner-city crime in big cities and as a conflict-resolution strategy in post-war countries. Art also serves as the salvation for nations trying to redeem their past and to derive meaning from their collective memory.

"Your Contribution To The Human Spirit" (JFK)

We are concerned with cultural reconstruction of the self-image of future generations, ourselves and of how Lebanon projects itself. Its cultural exploits are beginning to replace the headlines of war. We need your help and your support as donors to build on this foundation and to strengthen this momentum with our activities and our next projects.

President Kennedy wrote that “after the dust of centuries has passed over our cities, we, too, will be remembered not for victories or defeats in battle or politics, but for our contribution to the human spirit”.

APEAL envisions launching exchange programs between countries and artistic programs and institutions, granting scholarships to promising talent, and contributing to the formation of trained curators and professionals to help nurture, cultivate and elevate the Lebanese art scene to higher levels. Our travelling shows will shine a bright light on it. APEAL seeks to respond to this need through the organization of exhibitions with the generous contributions of donors in Lebanon and abroad.
